So you’re ready to get off the groomers? Don’t dive right into backcountry. In this L2 RIDER Terrain lesson we talk about going “off-piste”. When you’re riding off-piste when you get off of the groomed trail but are still within the safety of the resort boundaries. Building off-piste skills makes for a great prep for backcountry. Let’s talk about what to expect so you’re prepared.

You’ll want to be comfortable moving fore and aft on your board and making turns quickly to avoid obstacles. Off piste riding can be unpredictable so be ready by practicing these drills.
